The Prostate Argument - Another Example Of Transphobic Bigot Ignorance

If you are Transgender or a Transgender Rights Supporter you have probably come across transphobic comments.

Comments like

  • "They are a Man in a dress"
  • "They have a prostate so they are a man"

All of them ignorant of the bigger picture, generally these trolls relying on what they heard from fox news, or joe rogan, or the Right Wing Nationalist (Nazi Fascist) propaganda pod cast/radio show (pick one).

So...let us talk about the prostate argument. It goes like this

Bigot: "They are a man in a dress cause they have a prostate!"

This is an easy one to defeat and here is why.

Champion of Truth: Surprise!!! Women have a prostate too. Ya... WOMEN HAVE A PROSTATE TOO!

The Skene's gland is considered the female homolog of the prostate gland.

Facts:

Shared embryonic origin. Both structures develop from the same embryonic tissue (the urogenital sinus). They're the same basic structure, just differentiated by hormonal environment during development.

Same marker protein. Skene's glands express PSA (prostate-specific antigen) and PSMA (prostate-specific membrane antigen) — the same markers used in prostate cancer screening in men. Because of this, some researchers and anatomists now formally call them the "female prostate."

Location and function. They're small glands located on the anterior wall of the vagina, near the lower end of the urethra. They produce secretions that contribute to lubrication, and their ducts empty near the urethral opening.

Female ejaculation connection. Skene's glands are believed to be the primary source of female ejaculate — the fluid released during or after orgasm. The composition of that fluid has been found to contain PSA and other prostate-like secretions, which is consistent with their homologous nature.

Official recognition. The International Society of Urology has formally recognized Skene's glands as the female prostate, though the terminology isn't yet universal in clinical practice.

While they're smaller and structurally simpler than the male prostate, they're not just similar — they're genuinely the same structure expressed differently. The old framing of "women don't have a prostate" is considered anatomically inaccurate.

So next time a transphobic bigot brings this up put them down. Knowledge is power.
